This is a topic that lives near and dear to my heart.

I live with PTSD and am disabled for it. I'm not military, I've had a pretty horrible life of sexual abuse, beginning with my father, as a toddler.

I cannot live without my rescue dogs. Who rescued who?

The most recent news related to emotional support dogs/animals becoming an "option" to renting a home when accompanyment is life-or-death, is surreal to me.

People will go homeless.

People will not let their family members go to a "kill" shelter.

Landlords will suck this up because they are money whores, in general.

People are going to be on the streets or committing suicide because they cannot deal with life.

I cannot emphasize he importance of this issue enough. I am surprised that I'm not seeing more outrage! I bet it is because many of these WORTHY Americans aren't even ABLE to go online and fight!

Here I am because I would certainly be in really, really bad shape without my dogs.

This TRUMP policy change ONLY benefits fat-cat landlords, creating a significant imbalance in the housing market that prioritizes the interests of wealthy property owners over the needs of everyday renters. By shifting regulations and financial incentives in favor of large real estate investors and landlords, this policy effectively consolidates power and wealth among a select few, while leaving countless tenants to navigate an increasingly challenging rental landscape.

The ramifications of this shift are far-reaching, as it not only exacerbates the existing affordability crisis but also undermines tenant protections that are crucial for ensuring fair housing practices. With reduced oversight and a lack of stringent regulations, landlords may feel emboldened to raise rents without justification, leading to a surge in housing costs that many families simply cannot afford. Moreover, this policy change can encourage the proliferation of substandard living conditions, as landlords may prioritize profit over the maintenance and quality of their properties.

Tenants may find themselves trapped in a cycle of high rents and deteriorating living conditions, with limited recourse to challenge their landlords or seek more affordable alternatives.

In addition, the focus on benefitting large landlords can stifle competition in the rental market, as smaller property owners struggle to keep up with the advantages enjoyed by their larger counterparts. This can lead to a homogenization of rental options, reducing the diversity of available housing and limiting choices for renters.

Ultimately, this policy serves to entrench the wealth gap, as it disproportionately benefits those who already have significant financial resources, while neglecting the pressing needs of lower- and middle-income individuals and families who are striving to secure stable and affordable housing. The implications of such a policy change are profound, raising questions about equity, accessibility, and the future of housing in our communities.

I lost my entire life and my emotional support dog brutally, due to a landlord's clear neglence as well as my residency of 30 years in Colorado due to my dog being brutally murdered by the same LL's othe tenant's pitbull with no seperate entrance. I lost my dog, and weekly visitation with my now 16 year old son for three long years due to LL corruption. I will NEVER get that time back! https://www.justexhale.org/post/nightmare-dinosaur-colorado-81610
