Hard working folks are living in their cars. This is becoming an epidemic that goes unnoticed.
Private equity firms are targeting RV parks.
Oligarch's are rampant and cruel. There is no system of checks and balances. They can charge whatever they want for their cash-cows. They probably launder money too.
I am a survivor of human trafficking. Although I say I've been "homeless" but I've never actually had to sleep in my car. I am so fortunate. But I didn't have an address for a period of time. I cannot begin to express the terror and panic of living like that.
SO many are ages 50+.
The homeless rate used to be one in 10 for ages 50-60. Now it's more like 50%.
Think about the basics.
Food. Tiolet. Sleeping in a front seat if you aren't lucky enough to have an SUV or van. Sleeping in sub-zero temperatures in the winter. Covering your windows as tightly as tightly as you can so nobody can see inside and potentially rape and murder you. There are SO many women living in their cars! Female senior citizens, alone. People that have worked their entire life.
You'd need to work out a portable RV tiolet. Food storage. Eating fast food or sandwiches. All your clothes impossible to not keep in a heap. Getting a gym membership to shower. Finding a secluded place to park. Having a cop tap on your window at any point in time.
Think about it.
These are not "losers and suckers" as Trump, his regime as well as oligarch's like to think. They belive they are superior human beings.
These are people that have electric bills exceeding $1,ooo/month. There is not an average person out there that can afford that. Not one.
I truly think it's DATA CENTERS causing this TOO! Rent is insane. Insurance is up. Food is becoming a freaking luxury. People with 5+ kids living in hotel rooms. And those are the lucky ones! This video is just heartbreaking.
These are working people!
Rent has skyrocketed where you'd be lucky to get a studio for less than $1,500, plus utilities. This is nuts!

Police will harass you. Period. There are folks who are stuck somewhere in a random parking lot because their car broke down and it would be an unreasonable expense to fix it. Then you can be towed at any time and instantly be literally on the street.
We are the wealthiest country, or at least we used to be - in the world. Oligarchs are simply cruel and greedy people who seriously believe they are better and more worthy and importand than us "low lifes" . . .
